Your statement is not false, but seems to imply that New Radiant Storm King is some sort of Jews side project. Peyton and MHunter were NRSK before playing with Dave Berman. (Western Mass represent!)
NRSK is pretty good Sonic Youth-derived stuff. Haven't heard the new record (can't find it in record stores and haven't trolled for it online!), but Hurricane Necklace is one of those great albums no one ever talks about. It was on the (I think defunct) Grass label, so may be out-of-print.
Also, Peyton does some fairly awesome jangle-pop guitar work with the Pernice Brothers.

Last I heard DCB moved to Cali and is writing screenplays. That’s been going on for a year or so.

just learned this week that the "laughed when I left, but in the end you only hurt yourself" line from How to Rent a Room was from a Sam Cooke song.

From Drag City News(adjust your shades accordingly):
TRAVELING 20 YEARS AT HALF SPEEDAmerican Water by Silver Jews was first released two decades ago. Observing the time between then and now, the album has been half-speed mastered at Abbey Road to provide depth and nuance for all future vinyl listeners - and current ones! Additionally, a cassette version of this timeless album makes its debut, to provide an alternative aural timestamp for intrepid audio voyagers who weren't there the first time around. You can pre-order both versions NOW for the 9/28 release date. American Water - here's to the next 20 years!

So we've got Purple Mountains now.
Walked to a record store today and bought a copy despite not owning a record player or having any friends that do. But I heard it on Downhill Swing. So, the song's about getting old, losing friends, and struggling with depression. References to long cross-country drives alone which seem to match up with some of the photos DCB's posted to his twitter recently. Not a theme I can personally get too excited about, but I trust the guy knows what he's doing and I suspect he's putting those feelings out there as a way offer a connection with anyone who might be dealing with the same stuff.
The music itself didn't do a whole lot for me, but I'm drifting away from indie rock these days anyway.
