Today I was listening to this (way underrated) album by Houndog (Hidalgo from Los Lobos + latter day Canned Heat dude) and realizing it is probably one of the most stoned albums ever. I'd also nominate Bill Evans' Waltz For Debby and JJ Cale's Naturally. What else?

anyways - bardo pond's "ticket crystals", or just anything bardo pond. what gets me even more is that they can retrospect upon their albums and not think that maybe it gets a little boring

I think dub in general is the most stoned music, so I'd go with that Scratch Perry box set. (But I'm taking "stoned" to mean weed specifically. I guess if we're talking under the influence of any and all drugs, there are a lot of other possibilities. Like Tusk, e.g.)

― Sick Mouthy (Scik Mouthy), Saturday, 29 October 2011 08:54 (fourteen years ago)
This is actually a surprisingly difficult vibe to capture on record, I guess. I just looked thru stacks and stacks of "psychedelic" cd's and came up with only a handful of answers. Even stuff like the Dead or Hawkwind or Kyuss (stoner music fer sure) seems a little too calculated or structured (or at least missing a sort of formlessness)to sound TOTALLY STONED.
Anyhow, I think the Parson Sound/ Trad Gras och Stenar/ Harvester stuff qualifies.

Fun thread. I'm going to go with... Tony Conrad w/Faust - Outside the Dream Factory! Two notes, lots of green stuff, a few days in Wumme = as classic as any classic thing ever.
Any remotely structured, stylized, and/or mannered musics are all disqualified in my opinion if most stoned ever is truly our subject. This rules out broad swathes of otherwise extremely psychedelic music like certain stoner rock, dub reggae and krautrock records mentioned already. It has to start from ground zero and the only rule can be that there are no rules.
I'm inclined to agree w/International Waters as to the Harvester axis in Sweden sounding thoroughly, righteously, stoned. If the question was what band, I'd go with them. They're laid back and beautiful; with endless songs, zen fuzz guitars, extended improvised rambling, shambling... and heavy as fuck all. Heavy intent, if not sound. Unfocused focus.
