For recent efforts check his wonderful edits on his compiled Chic Organisation Vol. 1 box set (100% classic) & Eurodiscotique 12" (good) and his Prince edit "I Wanna be your Lobster' as Dimitri from Stoke on Trent. Always CLASSIC for his TSOP mix of 'The Way You Love Me' I've only seen him DJ once (and that was 1998) - he was fantastic then. His appearance on Beats In Space last December was educational/wonderful. Dud? I've never gone near a Playboy Mansions CD and my thoughts are he used those to pay the bills.

Sacre Bleu is a cute loungey set. I guess not classic really, dated but it has it's moments.

i really like his remixes on "nile rodgers presents..." especially "i want your love". he turns the hazy gorgeous vibe of the original into this massive, propelling ache. xp

haha yeah i think the angle of his i really like is his least approved of but i feel like his commercial comps are generally both appealing and sexy w/o which is hard to do, so much of that stuff is leering and horrible...
like i really dig this:

I've never heard that Aquarian Dream edit, it's well done. I don't doubt his house mix CDs are good.

considering he charges $70-300 ticket price for DJ sets I can't imagine he's making more off a compiler's fee for a licenced disc of other people's music

I've always had respect for him since this early jam.

Just noticed "Monsieur Dimitri Joue Du Stylophone" samples The Three Suns's version of "Sleep Walk." Cool to hear an extended version of that too-short track.
