Now I have virtual synths...Does anyone know how to create the bass-line heard in Patti Austin's "Heats of Heat"

I am using the virtual Pro-5 called SCP5. I know that basses are usually triangles and square waves. I am trying to create the sustain+cutoff effect at the end of each bass-line bar. Can anyone help.

of if you never heard the song.

Are you making karaoke?

Set waveform of the oscillators to triangle (or another one to pulse).
Detune oscillators only slightly.
Set amplitude envelope attack to zero, decay to long, sustain to almost full, release to short.
Set (lowpass) filter cutoff frequency pretty low, so that it almost sounds like a sine wave.
Set filter resonance quite low.
Set filter envelope attack to zero, decay to quite low (50-200ms), sústain to zero, release to long.
Adjust filter envelope amount until the sound has some kind of 'kick' in it, tweak filter decay at the same time.

Play it funky and use the pitch bend when needed.
