Because she's awesome. And totally out of her mind (I know someone who used to be her publicist). She's got a new album, Brava, which is more disco/trance than her last one, Gran City Pop, but also has two songs in English.
This is probably my favorite of her songs (it's from Gran City Pop):

Was always a fan of her 1992 self-titled album (debut maybe?) and her 2002 (mostly) English language crossover Border Girl. Haven't really kept up, though -- I should probably explore more of her stuff, one of these days.

Check out Gran City Pop from 2009. Really good stuff.

I thought you were going to talk about her performance with Los Tigres del Norte on the Latin Grammys and her upcoming tour with them

No, but I might go to that. I've never seen either one live, and the combination sounds awesome. (I don't currently have cable, so I missed the Latin Grammys.)

I think some of the performances are on Youtube. But they weren't that exciting

Always enjoy "Dame Otro Tequila" and "Lo Hare Por Tí" when they pop up on the ipod. She puts on an excellent show; has a bit of Charo in her. It is hard to believe she's been in the business almost 30 years (first with the group Timbiriche).
