"california gurls" is the only one good enough for me to tolerate her voice. everything else is absolutely horrible

i just dont even like seeing california gurls w/ the u. ive warmed 2 it & firework as 'ok' songs, i h8 et & peacock & not sure ive played any of the other songs since the 1st time i heard them

i liked "firework" when i first heard the album but that one became tiresome almost immediately as a single

yes but the tune is a 9/10 so it averages out at an acceptable 6/10 or so

anyway she's never sounded worse than on the title track. Her high pitch on those verses omg so horrible

Heard the Motown-y one on the radio the other day, and it finally struck me that, yeah, it's really the voice I can't take. Something about it pushing audaciously against the limits of technology that just rubs me the wrong way.

in terms of stretching technology i have heard way worse. i do think she is a good vehicle for a pop star; she has the right things in the right places; not the best in terms of skill, but enough where it counts

Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection includes all 12 tracks from the original version of Katy’s second album, including the singles “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “E.T.,” “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” and “The One That Got Away,” which all peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart.
