I don't think those two are cut from the same cloth at all. "Lazy Song" is on some sub-Jack Johnson "lets chill with our acoustic guitar" shit, while "Fuck You" at least aimed for some type of classic pop Motwon rip-off vibe.

2) a smaller population leading to a more volatile chart

"Changed The Way You Kiss Me" is probably top 5 of the year for me and I'm not afraid to admit it. Also really like "Don't Go". "We Found Love" will probably win, which is probably fair enough as it's the best thing C.Harris has been involved with (except Roisin Murphy slash Sophie Ellis-Bextor's "Off & On").

I'd hate to see airplay taken into account. At least the current system allows the shit songs to disappear quickly from the charts. I'd hate to see the charts filled with the same old songs that record companies have bunged radio to play.

oh sh!t this is the first time I've ever looked at a #1s list and thought "oh, it's all that silly stuff my daughters like" . lol old etc.
