I didn't know it was Adele for a few weeks--I actually was sure it was Gaga, doing something that sounded like a piano-only cover of "Edge of Glory."

Good voice and all, but now I know what it must've been like to have "The Rose" bring down every trip to the supermarket in 1979.

I hadn't actually heard "Born This Way" as a song in and of itself until October because every time it came on I would sing "Express Yourself" over it because it annoyed my wife.

i'm actually kind of OK with pop radio being so relentlessly dancey (at least in principle, not necessarily in defense of these songs). there are always going to be ubiquitous bad songs, but i'd rather deal with light, uptempo trifles than the kind of big, monotonous, overly serious ballads that topped the charts more frequently in the 80s and 90s.

Voted "S&M," but like most of these. Guess my brain finally went to mush.

I would argue that "Tik Tok", "We R Who We R" and "Blow" are all more euphoric and propulsive than "Till The World Ends" but that is mostly because I don't like "Till The World Ends".

(I don't really like "We R Who We R" either but at least it's not nu-Brit, who really should have stopped at "3")
