Handsome Boy Modelling School one year later--where has it gotten us?

It is a date which will live in infamy -- Sept. 11, 2001, a day of horror, but also of heroism and resolve. On that day, our strength was tested as not only a nation, but as individuals reacting to a terrible tragedy which affected us all--an event so massive and seemingly unfathomable that it becomes difficult even to describe it accurately--Ethan Padgett, also known as 'ethan p,' armed with a late-model Macintosh Performa, overtook Messageboard ILM with this thread about Handsome Boy Modelling School.

So, a year later and a year wiser, where has this left us? Just how much have we discovered about Dan the Automator in the time we've spent thinking and reflecting about the heroism exhibited by the members of Messagboard ILM who risked their lives to post how they felt about not only Asian guys with turntables, but Jewish Rap as a whole? Did the posting have a long-term negative cultural effect, or have we sufficiently recovered from the post-Beasties rap fallout? And what does this mean in the world (music) arena?

I can barely look at that thread now. It still makes me cry when I think about it!! And all those vendors with their cheap, tawdry memorabilia DON'T help either!!
