This is a tough, tough poll. Going to give the edge to Refused making a grand fucking statement and then stopping.

I hate Refused and I sort of liked One Armed Scissor at the time, so ATDI.

Refused didn't do choreographed 'spontaneous' star jumps etc at the same points during the same songs tho

There was a time when i really like Refused. I think I even had a refused shirt at one point. lol. Could never get into ATDI although somehow managed to see them several times. Anyway - Refused.

Gonna vote ATDI but I don't think I have a use for either of these bands anymore.

I have never listened to Refused but I really liked ATDI when I was 20/21, saw them live, still really love the Vaya EP. So them, by default.

I have never knowingly heard a note by either of these bands; they both became a Thing right when I was fully submersing myself in every variety of dance music I could get my hands on and I therefore didn't give a shit about either of them.

I was really into punk at the time but mainly old punk and hardcore and these bands were way too produced/slick sounding. Still are tbh.

The reason Refused hit me so hard was that, previously, I had been pretty much on an Epitaph/Fat Wreck kick when it came to punk and hearing Refused shook me out of that rut.

Refused solely because of The Shape of Punk to Come, their other albums are p. boring imo

i like their demos just as a headclearing hardcore blast sometimes, but yeah "shape" is the big winner

I must be missing something majorly with Refused. I know that album is supposed to be a classic but it just sounds like all other horrible mall-core screamo bullshit to me, only with a few twiddly bits on top.

i liked both of these bands when i was a kid, and while im generally extremely sceptical and unimpressed by bands reforming im sort of a whole other level of unimpressed by this news. seriously why would you give a fuck about this in 2012?

For the same reason someone might have given a fuck about Van Halen's original lineup. Or the Black Sabbath original lineup. Or My Bloody Valentine in 2008. Or Mission of Burma. Or whoever.

I feel like we go through this argument every time a band reunites. Its nostalgia, for better or worse.

like 99% of people's taste in "new" bands is driven by nostalgia anyways

AtDI have at least one song I can bear, One Armed Scissor. Colonel Poo's post describes Refused p well for me.

both are 2 of the more eclectic post-hardcore bands, both peaked in the late 90's shortly before breaking up & starting shittier projects, pretty similar imo

i dunno, i think refused hasn't aged well at all, at the drive in has hooks and stuff so i think they age better

neithere have aged well in terms of the style they played being currently unfashionable but imo they both still sound good, it's not like "what was i thinking?" or anything
