only ones i actually listen to when they come on the radio are "Moves Like Jagger," "You Make Me Feel" and "Without You," will probably vote for the latter.

interesting that there is usually one anonymous euro-club tune in the US charts at any given time, now the public has decided to have a shitload of them at once. by people who aren't anonymous or euro! (not a novel observation granted)

it's been routine for the last few U.S. volumes of Now! to end w/ 3 or 4 random tracks by 'up and coming' acts

vv brown was up and coming in the uk a couple of years ago. relentlessly up and coming. but she never, um, came.

I don't mind that Natasha Beddingfield Kelly Clarkson song but I would never vote for it in anything other than a "most surprising hit single from an American Idol contestant" poll

it's so blandly in character that it's like the least surprising KC single thoguh

actually I don't hate most of these songs because they are too boring to sustain a strong opinion

although i suppose it's surprising in the sense that hey Ester Dean can write a generic Kelly Clarkson song (xpost)

natasha bedingfield is an odd figure in US pop, she's had like 6 or 8 big charting songs here but is still basically not famous. (i might be wrong about both of those things)

I think I meant surprising as in "I am surprised that people in 2011/2012 are still into Kelly Clarkson in autopilot"

Cheers is probably my favorite of this lot (but it seems so OLD now), with Mr. Saxobeat coming in second.

Robbie Daw from Idolator wrote that "Moves Like Jagger" slightly echoes the Rolling Stones’ chart-topping 1978 classic "Miss You", and added that "Levine’s voice is distorted via Auto-Tune on the chorus."

demi lovato 'skyscraper' is the only new ballad ive liked in what feels like a really long time; also like moves like jagger tbh

I don't really know why I like the whistling in "I Wanna Go" but not in "Moves Like Jagger" - I think because the latter reminds me of a radio commercial jingle

I don't think this is objectively worse than, say, US Now! 4 with its mix of warmed-over Eurodance, half-assed pop'n'b and non-rock.

Incidentally this album probably features less autotune than Now! 4 thanks to Eiffel 65

most of the songs on Now 4 are actually memorable, though, and at least a few are genuinely great. i can't imagine remembering more than one or two of these songs clearly AND fondly in 12 years.

I like songs off Now 4 too! But looking at the tracklist for it compared to this one I don't really see anything that I'd really consider definitively "better" than anything on this list, except maybe Aaliyah.
