More than a feeling
When I hear that old song babe
More than a feeling...

But, for something a bit more original, how about this:

All must bow prostrate
To the organic monsta
Sib Hasian's afro!

Joe (Joe), Saturday, 14 September 2002 02:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Kubrick: Tom! Nicole!
Screw to "Amanda", this scene!
(much better film, no?)

Joe (Joe), Saturday, 14 September 2002 02:19 (twenty-three years ago)

two years pass...
Boston were badass
They took eight years between records
Said: "Eat shit, Epic!"

Roy Williams Highlight (diamond), Friday, 22 October 2004 20:20 (twenty years ago)

Delp, Scholtz, and brethren
Harmonize impossibly well,
Yet rock mightily.

Tears well in my eyes.
Overcome by beauty, I
Murmur "Amanda".

My guitar is air,
Foreplay/Long Time the highway
Down which I will roll.

Hurlothrumbo (hurlothrumbo), Friday, 22 October 2004 20:43 (twenty years ago)

more than a feeling
plus flannel, minus shampoo:
smells like teen spirit

fact checking cuz (fcc), Friday, 22 October 2004 20:51 (twenty years ago)

No synthesizers
Or orchestral instruments
Were used by Tom Scholz

And yet, the sweetness!
Rivers of lotus nectar
Flow into my ears.

It must be clear now:
Picture discs adorn my walls,
Solos fill my dreams

While Delp's siren call
Summons me to ecstasy;
Just one more bong hit.

Hurlothrumbo (hurlothrumbo), Friday, 22 October 2004 20:53 (twenty years ago)

Best album ever--
their debut if they'd added
peerless "Don't Look Back"

hiro, Friday, 22 October 2004 20:57 (twenty years ago)

Folks dis Don't Look Back
(album) only praise title song
Have yall heard "Party"??

Roy Williams Highlight (diamond), Friday, 22 October 2004 21:03 (twenty years ago)

As I compose this
The first album is shaking
My house to the ground.

You know what the sleeve
Says: "listen to the record!"
Why would I argue?

More than a Feeling,
Peace of Mind: welcome to the
First side of your life.

Something About You,
Let Me Take You Home Tonight:
Side two ends in bliss.

Hurlothrumbo (hurlothrumbo), Friday, 22 October 2004 21:06 (twenty years ago)

Uptight, cold, repressed
Harvard beats. The city
Gets rock it deserves

mottdeterre (mottdeterre), Friday, 22 October 2004 21:09 (twenty years ago)

Whoa, slow don, sonny;
MIT is Cambridge too,
But Harvard? No chance.

Hurlothrumbo (hurlothrumbo), Friday, 22 October 2004 21:11 (twenty years ago)

Could a Harvard boy
Write "we're Ready" or "Smokin'"?
Create the Rockman?

Hurlothrumbo (hurlothrumbo), Friday, 22 October 2004 21:12 (twenty years ago)

Technological
Know-how is a key part of
The genius of Scholtz;

Liberal Arts is
For indie dishwater rock.
Huh. Harvard, indeed.

Hurlothrumbo (hurlothrumbo), Friday, 22 October 2004 21:15 (twenty years ago)

mottdeterre -- replace
harvard with MIT, to
get better haiku!

'cause your second line
"harvard beats. the city" is
one syllable short

fact checking cuz (fcc), Friday, 22 October 2004 21:17 (twenty years ago)

Sorry if I just
Came off like a total dick;
I should get less drunk.

Hurlothrumbo (hurlothrumbo), Friday, 22 October 2004 21:20 (twenty years ago)

Doubled leads, octaves
sounds like a guitar orchestra
All praise the Rockman

Roy Williams Highlight (diamond), Friday, 22 October 2004 21:23 (twenty years ago)

>"harvard beats. the city" is
>one syllable short

Unless like me you grew up in Southern Indiana.

Re: Harvard v. MIT. I know where he went, but I can never, ever resist a good pun.

mottdeterre (mottdeterre), Friday, 22 October 2004 22:15 (twenty years ago)

epic cathedral
rock ruled. guitar spaceship
passed by sleeker Cars

mottdeterre (mottdeterre), Friday, 22 October 2004 22:45 (twenty years ago)

andmoreagain more
than a feeling the riff sounds
just like teen spirit

mottdeterre (mottdeterre), Friday, 22 October 2004 22:53 (twenty years ago)

Is it possible --
Were Scholtz, Delp, and company
Beantown's greatest gift?

Has the Jonzun Crew,
Donna Summer, anyone,
Scaled such lofty peaks?

One thing is certain:
Keep your damn CBGB;
The Hub was heavy.

Hurlothrumbo (hurlothrumbo), Saturday, 23 October 2004 01:21 (twenty years ago)

"The Journey" -- gold waves
ripple in morning sunlight.
Crystalline landscape

Brad gets sensitive
on "A Man I'll Never Be"
Fragile lotus, weep.

Joe (Joe), Saturday, 23 October 2004 03:27 (twenty years ago)

Return to zero
With miniature amps man
Engineers can rock.

Tennessee stoners
Wondered about these cities
Inspiring such.

Did Damon and Affleck play
"More Than a Feeling"
for Weinstein one night?

(This nod to mott of Indy
Since in Tennessee
syllable add too)

eddie hurt (ddduncan), Saturday, 23 October 2004 18:06 (twenty years ago)

Where does the extra syllable come in?

Offline, people laugh
If I take them seriously
Here, they do no wrong!

Or maybe haters
Don't even think that they're worth
Arguing about?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Saturday, 23 October 2004 18:12 (twenty years ago)

it comes in "inspiring." sutherners tend to say "in-spi-uh-ring," not "in-spir-ing." One of my pet peeves along with "misCHEVious" for "mischevious" and "inTERESTing" for "interesting."

eddie hurt (ddduncan), Saturday, 23 October 2004 18:18 (twenty years ago)

I've had trouble counting syllables ever since my fingers got shot off in the war.

mottdeterre (mottdeterre), Monday, 25 October 2004 03:27 (twenty years ago)

one year passes...
Many years gone by
At last we get remasters
Done by Tom himself

Edward Bax (EdBax), Wednesday, 21 June 2006 12:53 (nineteen years ago)

remasters? awright!
tell the folks in Hyannis
they'll dance in the streets

hank (hank s), Wednesday, 21 June 2006 14:26 (nineteen years ago)

sadly no bonus
tracks, after the long long wait
for these remasters

Edward Bax (EdBax), Thursday, 22 June 2006 11:00 (nineteen years ago)

Let thy triplet notes,
O Scholz and Barry Godreau,
roar forth remaster'd

Joe (Joe), Thursday, 22 June 2006 14:20 (nineteen years ago)

well, sing it with me
"It's been such a long time, to
wait for remasters"

Edward Bax (EdBax), Thursday, 22 June 2006 16:19 (nineteen years ago)

You can see Brad Delp
With cover band Beatle Juice
Any given weeknight

zaxxon25 (zaxxon25), Thursday, 22 June 2006 16:46 (nineteen years ago)

headphones on; press "play"
close my eyes and slip away
(sixth grade memories)

hank (hank s), Thursday, 22 June 2006 16:48 (nineteen years ago)

funny reading these
haikus--many have the wrong
number syllables?

Joe (Joe), Thursday, 22 June 2006 23:48 (nineteen years ago)
