My favorite bit in the SFF one is around 1:24 with Paul at the top of the tree, which kinda sounds like drone metal or something.

so did you watch it until the end? i managed 56 seconds and thought i was doing quite well...

Hah, yes. I just chop the videos up into 2, 4, 6, 8, and 12-frame segments at random, shuffle it all, and loop the little bits. Some of the loops are better than others, and I've been tempted to single those out for longer repeating. But part of me just likes the experimental nature of letting it be more random, so for the moment at least it's an extremely jarring experience.
The Revolution one I'm currently rendering on is taking that jarring aspect to the next level.

I need to start rendering these with keyframes every 1 frame, cos it does get off sync with the audio.

hahahaha, billy joel one becomes just amazing after 3:30, everything crashing and crescendoing and then sort of gradually limping away so that you start getting really weird overlaps between the last men standing, basically this three-way battle between "Captain Jack," "Piano Man" and "New York State of Mind," where it turns out the latter two actually kind of play well together except Captain Jack's blundering crashes keep barging in at the most awkward moments - brilliant.

and wowww, that revolution one is hypnotic!

It was a huge trip hearing "think for yourself" for the first time after having only heard it via the looped "you've got time to rectify" in Yellow Submarine.

thanks Mark, my favourite moment of Yellow Sub film, with the bit where Lennon sights the meanies and replies "Singing!"
