I've been thinking about getting into Burning Star Core for some time now. I can't remember which album I was thinking about getting but anyone have any recommendations.

Also, the new Daniel Menche is prolly to go-to NOIZ record for January and its a beast. Basically him throwing stuff @ a piano

last time I saw Yeh, he played solo in the Berkeley Art Museum, which is this concrete multi-level structure that sucks acoustically for a lot of music, but he sounded amazing.

This Uk fest in Nottingham looks awesome, I can't make it 'cause we're doing an indiepop night in Brighton that weekend :/

my cousin's husband once made me a Halloween themed comp that was mostly death metal but had a 10 min untitled Hototogisu song in the middle that fucking ruled my world!

Ha! Yeah, they're great. Haven't done anything lately for some reason.

This Pop. 1280 record on Sacred Bones is really good, can see fans of Pissed Jeans and early Liars really enjoying this.

the Sissy Spacek gig I saw in December was probably one of the best shows I saw all of last year. They've released a bunch of stuff recently.

I just picked up that Pop. 1280 LP. Sacred Bones still have some of the flashy deluxe LP versions...

Ha, my Pop. 1280 vinyl is translucent green, but I don't remember any of that other stuff. Tbh, my turntable is still in storage so I only opened it long enough to get the download code out though. Sigh. I really miss my turntable.

no surprises here since I love just about everything this guy does but the 2 3cdr sets (!) kevin drumm is selling via his blogspot (I have a computer / blast of silence) are both totally great. particularly love the blast of silence discs. slow, gradually modulating sine wave tones that will just take over a room at appropriate volumes. kind of puts me in the same headspace as eliane radigue!

weighing up attending on Saturday/Sunday, as I'm intrigued by the Black Sunroof! performance, aka Cindy Talk + Voltigeurs. And Esplendor Geometrico live?!

Interesting also that Skullflower will be playing with Jaworzyn, or so I gather.

Not familiar with all of the lesser bands though. How much many power electronic style acts should I expect? Or at least what won't be entirely harsh. My stamina and interest for such things isn't quite what is once was, but then there's artists like Giancarlo Toniutti, from whom I only know to do spacious industrial room-tone kinda sounds.
