"Get Together" is probably the best dancefloor song on this list (leaving aside the possible exception of the Man With Guitar version of "Sorry") but I think is too slight as a song to be anything more than first among equals.

I voted Get Together last time and just did it this time too.

I don't know all of them, but "Don't Tell Me." I guess "Beautiful Stranger" just missed the cut-off.

for me the Mirwais era is the only remotely memorable stuff here -- "Don't Tell Me" is classic and "American Life" and "Die Another Day" are by far the most entertaining failures

In "Give It 2 Me", the album's second single, Madonna merged bounce-beats and a funky bassline. "If it's against the law, arrest me", she sings "If you can handle it, undress me." The song has a short interlude where Madonna continuously repeates the words "Get stupid", as Williams chants, "To the left, to the right". "Give It 2 Me" was written by Madonna as an anthemic, self-manifesto song which, although it appears to be about dance and sex, is a reference to Madonna's career spanning three decades in the music industry.

Pharrell Williams admitted he reduced Madonna to a sobbing wreck while working on her recent album ‘Hard Candy’.

The producer said he made the icon cry like a baby during recording sessions for the record.

“I totally made her cry like. Like a baby. I had to get her a towel,” he told Shortlist. “We were alone recording the album and she kept talking a lot of rubbish, so I shouted a lot of rubbish and she started crying her eyes out.”

The N.E.R.D man admitted he had been quite nasty to Madonna, but said he had no plans to make their scrap public until the singer spoke about it herself.

“I just said some really nasty stuff, I guess. And yeah, she cried for a really long time actually,” he said. “To be honest I can’t believe she told someone about it. The whole situation was quite intense. It’s totally weird to make Madonna sob, but even stranger when she tells everyone, ‘Pharrell made me cry’.

"I was singing and I didn’t understand the rhythm that he wanted me to sing in," said Madonna, "and he was kind of giving me a hard time and I was sort of taken aback by the way he was talking to me, so I said 'You know what? we need to talk.'"

She adds, "We went upstairs and I said, 'You can't talk to me like that,' and burst into tears. And he said, 'Oh my god, Madonna has a heart!' I started crying even more, and we had it out. Now I love him and we make great music together, but I think we had to go through that."

i bet madonna actually DID say "rubbish" and the interviewer felt embarrassed for her and left that part out

i like the album version of "What It Feels Like" better than the mixes, but it's only a question of degree. i feel like the melancholy that the mixes trade in only makes proper sense if you know the original version first.

Hmm, I don't know. I heard the remix first via the video and really loved the aggressive menace (enhanced of course by the video itself).

technically i guess i voted for the video version anyway.
