I made a little tiny record store and I'm boasting about it

Not sure why, except that it seemed as though it would be fun, but I made a little tiny record store. To give an idea of scale, all the albums are 1cm square.

Love this! How did you make/print the tiny records?

Alexandre Dumbass (dog latin), Tuesday, 21 February 2012 02:20 (thirteen years ago)

Thanks!

I just collected a whole bunch of record cover images, and (using InDesign) printed them in columns, 2 copies side by side. Then folded them down the middle, and cut them out. If that makes sense.

A dollar bin is a great idea. Will make!

If those are supposed to be real t-shirts the scale is only big enough for a child.

Moka, Tuesday, 21 February 2012 03:58 (thirteen years ago)

That's why they're still in stock. Kids don't frequent 2nd-hand vinyl shops. That's my excuse, anyway

lol don't get me wrong I think the whole thing is really cool!
I just don't know... the ratio t-shirt / vinyl was irking me and even the way they're positioned. I think it would look better if the walls were filled with more convert posters rather than xxxs t-shirts.

Moka, Tuesday, 21 February 2012 04:53 (thirteen years ago)

*concert posters not convert. Did a google search for convert rock posters out of curiosity and this came out:

Definitely my fave ilx thread after 11 odd years here. Amazing work James. You could make a fortune selling these. Esp if you charged for different album covers made to order.
I know I'd buy one. Put me first in the queue if you do! I wish I had the skills to make one, was always hopeless at art.

xp Not only did the jazz room at the Tower in Chicago have rabble-proof glass, but the "Pop/Vocal/Easy Listening" room had it, too. The latter was where I found Ray Charles, after looking through every other possible section for about an hour.
