That Armatrading video might be the most 1980s-sounding track I can even imagine - processed U2/Police guitars, orchestra splats, gated drums, 70s singer-songwriterisms giving way to one big unchanging groove and resulting in the awkward "It doesn't mean the whole world loves you / It doesn't mean more than it means." It's both likeable and completely forgettable, as I think I remember liking it, yet completely forgot about it.
