Why are they removing so many official music videos from youtube?

I was looking tonight & Byron Stingily's "Get Up," Michael Moog's "That Sound," and K Klass' "Show Me Love" have all been removed. I can't figure out why -- the 12" versions are still all online, often in much better quality than the official video audio was.

anyone else find this kind of annoying? I wish I'd saved all those videos to my HD now

Half the battle of monetizing the practice of video streaming in some way is to make sure there's only one source. Whether or not they ever get around to making those videos (and a billion others) available is beside the point. They want to keep them under wraps until they are ready.

("they" of course is just a catch-all for rights holders across the board)

Heh. I just a few minutes ago went looking for Outkast videos and had to go to Dailymotion. WTF?

Outkast's official commercial DVD only had about a third of their clips on it, label policy has always been a shambles wrt them obv

I never lose faith that K-Klass' "Let Me Show Ya Love" (and Londonbeat's "I've Been Thinking About You" for that matter) will one day go over with audiences when I "drop" them as well as they go over with me.

the k klass video is so awesome too. so ... "Unified Team" era. makes me think of, like, achtung baby, watching the dream team, kerri strug, etc. a new post-nationalist era, the world breaks free from the shackles of communism and embraces this new thing called the 'internet', idk seems like a very optimistic future captured in one little video
