i think the consensus choice among most fans and people here is rhythm-al-ism, which of course is a great pick, but i've been playing these all again in my car this week and they all are my favorites at the time. might go for way 2 fonky - even the seeming pisstake "let me rip tonight" ends up being totally inspired.

feel like trauma is going to be the most underrated

yeah, trauma is such a dope album. really, not a bad one here. undecided between rhythm-al-ism & blaqkout, which are two of my favorite albums ever.

The Reverend, Monday, 12 March 2012 23:52 (thirteen years ago)

the only thing i know is that balance & options is not my answer.

sisilafami, Tuesday, 13 March 2012 00:41 (thirteen years ago)

B&O is pretty great to me, but it wasn't immediate.

Under Tha Influence is the one that has fallen off the furthest for me, and its still a good record (has the best Quiks Groove imo).

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Tuesday, 13 March 2012 14:49 (thirteen years ago)

This is an easy pick for me being that Rhythmalism is my personal favorite record ever.

2nd place would be tough though. Probably between S&S and BlaQKout.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Tuesday, 13 March 2012 14:53 (thirteen years ago)

i'm voting quik is the name for no other reason than nostalgia

are people missing this poll because of the parody thread title? -_-

been to lots of college and twitter (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 16:14 (thirteen years ago)

No one cared about my Quiks Groove poll either :(

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Tuesday, 13 March 2012 16:16 (thirteen years ago)

shit, I meant under the influence instead of B&O which is great obviously.

sisilafami, Tuesday, 13 March 2012 16:54 (thirteen years ago)

still haven't heard Way 2 Fonky or Safe + Sound. Which do I get first?

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 16:57 (thirteen years ago)

way 2 fonky. such a fun, varied (and brief!) record. also, chris rock's favorite quik album

<3 that youtube of him in amoeba! the beatles stuff was so awesome! plus...damn dude knows deep stuff abt 70s r&b (not as surprising but still)

a little tiny crunk person (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 21:12 (thirteen years ago)

totally unsurprising yet gratifying to hear him rhapsodise about Steve Gadd and Dave Grusin tbrr

the sir edmund hillary of sitting through pauly shore films (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 21:13 (thirteen years ago)

lol had to fire up some Grusin as soon as they played that short snippet, right up my alley.

Have y'all seen the Visualism movie? has that been talked about already?

Have y'all read this little number? Looks like a relic from ye olde AllMusic days.

Exile in lolville (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 13 March 2012 22:15 (thirteen years ago)

it's true there is a fair amount of sexism on Rhythm-a-lism.

there's some other stuff too.

Just what rap needs: one more guy boasting about his majestic penis and how good he is at treating women like gutter trash.

paging DJP, new display name incoming!
