I have to go with Bad Brains. Bad Religion was much more consistant over time but I pick the supernova-like brilliance of I Against I and the ROIR Tape over the sustained excellence because that's more rock and roll.

Bad Brains. Not only do they beat out Bad Religion, but they probably beat out most of the other top bands in their style of music.

Anyone who says Bad Religion is inarguably a complete and total idiot.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 3 March 2006 01:55 (nineteen years ago)

Word. How is Bad Religion even an option here?

regular roundups (Dave M), Friday, 3 March 2006 04:10 (nineteen years ago)

Bad Brains are the best band in the history of hardcore punk rock, seeing as they created said form. Bad Religion are not very good at all.

Wow. I figured that some people would look at the longevity... Or at least be a West Coast homer. No dice, huh.

Well, this is solved. World peace, anyone?

Brian O'Neill (NYCNative), Friday, 3 March 2006 05:04 (nineteen years ago)

Jack Cole (jackcole), Friday, 3 March 2006 09:11 (nineteen years ago)

The question, I believe, though, wasn't whether or not they were upstanding, progressively-minded, compassionate, understanding human beings, it was who was better as a band.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 3 March 2006 12:44 (nineteen years ago)

Wow, is this even a question?

Bad Brains x1,000.

Myke. (Myke Weiskopf), Friday, 3 March 2006 13:45 (nineteen years ago)

Really, I'd like to hear someone make a case for Bad Religion winning this. Just to hear it, since I can't believe this contest could possibly ever go that way.

Josh in Chicago (Josh in Chicago), Friday, 3 March 2006 18:09 (nineteen years ago)
