Tony Marsh, one of Britain's finest jazz drummers, died at the weekend. He played and recorded with many of the leading lights of the British jazz scene, including Mike Westbrook, John Surman, Paul Rutherford and Barry Guy. In recent years he had been the drummer at Evan Parker's regular monthly residency at the Vortex in London.
