That's a pretty bold statement made in the NYT piece, but I have to say that Adorno's writing has definitely influenced the way I view music. His opinions, while at times reactionary, are profound and spot on. His dislike of high art and low art bleeding into each other can be frustrating, but I enjoy looking at things that way, even if I don't completely agree.
