Do you use the star ratings on iTunes?

I've started to, but my OCD is going bananas.

Yes. I either rate something 3 stars or zero stars. It's not a rating meant to compare the quality of songs, but I'm rating their replayability. Now I have this giant 3 star playlist that I throw on and pretty much like to hear every song.

also it feels like a way of rewarding a song for being good

I did this with the first ipod.

Then later I'd hear a song I had five-starred while I was drunk or something and go, what the shit, I hate Cinderella.

see that's the nice thing about that playlist syncing

I just checked and I have 172 songs rated (out of 14,279). Looking over them, it looks like in some cases I feverishly gave entire albums the 5 star treatment. There are a few where I remember going through that particular album, but not rating everything and giving up on the whole affair halfway through. Then there are some songs that are rated inexplicably low and I must have accidentally rated them in my pocket or something.

I thought Jeff Buckley was the sort of music that sounds amazing when you're depressed or drunk and it's punishable while sober.
