saw this band opening for Black Heart Procession and they were really amazing..dude is like the Albini with super guitar chops...
the singer is amazing, she doesn't really do anything but has a lot of presence...
new album "The Precious Prize of Gravity" is really cool, def. recommended if you like "this sort of thing"

oh and meany mcmeanerton from don cab doesn't drum anymore it's the guy who used to be in Girls Vs Boys, so you don't have to have any moral qualms.

Glad to see these guys are still going. I loved the first album but soon lost track of them after that.

i think the new one is by far their best fwiw

I loved the first album but soon lost track of them after that.
Ditto. I got the one on Temporary Residence a couple of years after it came out, though. Good but didn't play it that much. Could have put them on last month but really didn't think anyone would go.
What are the "moral qualms" about paying to see Damon Che play music? I know he is known as something of an ill-tempered douche but I don't know that I'd elevate that into a moral issue in itself

I had some vague moral qualms abt seeing Che's Don Cab tour under that name and so did not (though I had other reasons for not going too which were probably more of a factor), but would not extend those to Bellini, fwiw

Based on the show I saw you didn't miss much. Damon being obnoxious was probably the chief entertainment factor, all told
― 19349 things paedophiles like to complain about (DJ Mencap), Wednesday, 18 November 2009 16:58 (fifteen years ago)
haha yeah i guess "moral" was a bit much. but basically, everyone that i've ever known who dealt with him just says he is a vile person...
Also...the way he quit Bellini was just the biggest dick move ever. Dude quit ONSTAGE in the middle of a Bellini set, stormed out of the venue, then DROVE OFF IN THE TOUR VAN, leaving the Italians in Bellini stranded in Athens, GA.
Class act!
I talked to the singer and guitarist of Bellini at the merch table and they seemed like super nice folks.
Frankly, the dude from GvsB is a great drummer and way more grooving than Damon anyway, i think i like it better this way.

lololol that's incredible. Things like this are why it's sometimes still OK to compare stuff to Spinal Tap
Yeah GVSB always had great drumming

finally listened to this and i'm liking it very much
have only heard this album though and it's kinda hard to imagine how damon fuckin' che would fit in this band, it seems to be doing just fine without every inch of space crammed with fills
