Completely out of character, I have to say....wow this is great stuff! A mixed bag of traditional Indian music and more contemporary (am I correct in calling it "Bhangra"?), I'm completely taken it by it, but were I to seek out more, I have no idea where I'd begin. Any suggestions?

Taken IN by it, I should say. Not sure this counts as "Bollywood" music either. Does it?

i got this recently, had to buy it immediately after seeing the movie. actually i'd like to see it again in a theater, because 'mendhi' was BOOMING in the theater, the bass is not so kickin on the CD, plus that scene was just wonderful. my other favorite song is 'fabric'.

i would REALLY like to know more about this kind of music also.

plus i still want to eat a marigold

Not the biggest expert but some of the older stuff is iconic Bollywood (I remember hearing them in films back in '70s) The newer stuff has some bhangra but is mix of different styles - modern, brass band, etc. I don't think it likely that are too many coms out which have that same type of mix.

Fabric is by MIDIval Punditz who also play with Tabla Beat Science (i highly recomend the TBS live album) and MP have an album out with Fabric and other songs.
