Our series through Billboard's #1 Modern Rock hits continues today with 2005. We're still in a bit of a holding pattern between the occasional good song and strange '90s remnants – like Nine Inch Nails and Weezer hitting #1 for the first time about a decade after their most influential albums.
Some notable #2 hits from 2005 that just missed the top spot include Green Day's "Wake Me Up When September Ends," Queens of the Stone Age's "Little Sister," Fall Out Boy's "Dance Dance," and Foo Fighters' "No Way Back."
