I was amused by the extreme reaction of its review in Pitchfork.

Anyone else wanna give a shot at a review of this, small or long? I trust that this record is tedious, but I can't gather what kind of tedium it is from the review..(or maybe any review can't accomplish it)

Keep in mind, this record is from the same man who has dissed Merzbow several times.

Actually, I haven't heard a review of a noise piece this negative since the silver, sealed Sub Pop 7" release by Bruce Gilbert.

i haven't heard this record yet, but AMG gave it 4 stars.

I loved "Receive the Flame" and can't wait to hear this in all its DVD glory.

I haven't heard the album in question, but what does the following mean:

...texture, substance, or even both-- each the absolute lifeblood of experimental music.

Absolute lifeblood? What kind of lame prose is that?

(sorry, rhetorical question as the review ran in Pitchfork)

yeah, what hestencil said: he doesn't say what is substance to him in this case and what has texture got to do with anything...

one year passes...
Bought it coupla days ago for a fair bit of loot &
am unsure whether it's good or not so - I shouldn't
let that Pitchfork review get to me - but it does!

File under dark, scary & somewhat painful ambient...
