One of these years my family will stop scheduling gatherings for the exact same weekend as this festival.

its so twisted that the hype cycle is at the point where stuff like King Krule and Milk Music was like the hottest thang smokin when they booked this and now seems kind of old hat

those are two shitty examples, literally no one has ever heard of milk music

this was pretty fun. highlights for me were chavez, who i've been waiting to see since i was like 16 and who sounded amazing (apparently bob weston was doing their sound) and the oh sees, who were ridiculously fun and played like a 15-minute version of "block of ice." i was holding a spot for wild flag during flying lotus' set but he sounded fantastic from across the field and it made me wish i was watching him instead. i was pumped to see psychic paramount and they sounded good but have the least amount of stage presence of any band i've seen since built to spill. got totally soaked by rain twice on saturday, once during cloud nothings and again during liturgy (who sounded pretty shitty without a drummer). the "blue stage" (the smaller stage) was kinda dumb, had bad sight lines thanks to uneven ground and no tv screen so pretty hard to see unless you forced yourself up front, and some bands that were too big were scheduled on that stage (esp. grimes closing out saturday night)
