Hey let's do a poll for the best SCTV musical parody ever. My ground rule is that there must be a parody of particular musical groups or particular pieces of music in the skit (this means that most of the Fishin' Musician stuff is out, since these segments weren't musical parody but where SCTV hosted various not-so-great musical guests: The Tubes, The Plasmatics, etc. It also mostly means no Tex and Edna Boil or The Shmenge Brothers, although there are moments that could fit this definition).
Separate segments within larger sections will each be counted by themselves.
Mostly, this is a great excuse to post various YouTube links to SCTV skits. But I am also curious what would win.
Nominations, please. I'll start with five that come to mind immediately:
1. Rick Moranis as Ringo Starr's band "Rings"2. The Queen Haters doing "I Hate the Bloody Queen"3. Eugene Levy as Gino Vannelli doing "I Just Wanna Stop"4. Rick Moranis as Michael McDonald racing to do voiceovers on "Ride Like the Wind"5. Joe Flaherty as Sammy Maudlin doing "The Weight" - "take a load off Sammy"
