― PITILESS LIVE SHOW (DJP), Thursday, 19 July 2012 14:46 (twelve years ago)
stupid technical question; what am I doing wrong in Garageband that everything I export comes out really, really soft? I have no idea how to make my stuff LOUDER, which is frustrating
The most direct tool you can use to increase loudness is a limiter. Limiters work by reducing the amplitude of the largest peaks in a waveform, allowing you to then increase the gain further without clipping. The downside of this of course is that you're compressing the dynamic range.
― ciderpress, Thursday, 19 July 2012 14:55 (twelve years ago)

buddbbuddy9 has made a comment on LEAKED - Animal Collective - Amanita (Centipede Hz - New Album 2012) demo:
THESE ARE ALL FAKE GUYS. There is a soundcloud list of Centipede hz "covers" and "remixes" the uploader just took those tracks and changed the cover/remix artists and replaced them with animal collective's god name. Dont believe it

I don't mean to hate on anyone's fun here, but I'm actually finding it not very nice reading the comments on my track. Like, I didn't do this with the intention of fooling anyone, I can understand why people would be disappointed or annoyed if they were expecting AC and got me.
― I want to smother him in electronic butter. (White Chocolate Cheesecake), Monday, 30 July 2012 08:40 (twelve years ago)
(The thing that confuses me, though, is despite my vocals, why does it keep being attributed to blokes - either Panda Bear or of Montreal, apparently?)

― Mr.Prologue, Monday, 30 July 2012 15:44 (twelve years ago)
Please do not believe these recordings for a second. These will not be on the final recording and are just demos that were leaked by an engineer who has since been fired. These were unmastered and do not reflect the final contents of Centipede Hz or the true capabilities of the band.

I didn't do this with the intention of fooling anyone, I can understand why people would be disappointed or annoyed if they were expecting AC and got me.
I wouldn't sweat it. This isn't like people releasing fake Boards of Canada mp3s on the sly back in the day, this is a band with two (extremely distinctive) vocalists. A band that have been playing these tunes live for ages - they're all over YouTube and other sites so unless ILX really takes it to the next level and starts shooting fake gigs, it's pretty obvious what's real and what's not.
Sure as long as someone's happy:
