This is timely because I accidentally discovered a terrible band called Yertle the Turtle (http://www.amazon.com/Slam-That-Turtle-EP-Explicit/dp/B0035G1A3M) and I think their soulless, flat style of funk would fit in really well with the rest of this garbage.

Like the song "Sexy Funk" (never has a song been so misnamed) started playing and I thought of this thread.

i'm spending way too much time watching the video clips of this year's lineup. when did shitty EDM become acceptable for these things, joining shitty reggae, shitty americana, and shitty funk?

the ever-colorful Wendy Soleil leads this group of talented musicians with her gorgeously full vocals, soulful songwriting and ecstatic devotion to her primary instrument, the ukulele.

these groups/this 'scene' (what is this anyway? the upper midwest 'jam'/festival scene?) is really good at not doing jack shit for the planet while spouting a bunch of feel-good proselyting about clean water and shit.

It's like smooth jazz adult contemporary for wanna be hippies.

the biggest takeaway I guess from this music is that any band whose primary objective is to "mix" genres is terrible. Genre lines should be enforced at gunpoint like the borders of Soviet-era Eastern European states.

i like how dry this band's description is compared to the rest of them. just a couple of music majors playing prog:
