Guten Tag, Neu! Fans, I Must Alert You to the Genius of "Blue"

Blue is supposedly the 5th La Dusseldorf album (the 4th was Neondian, though legal problems forced it to be released as Dinger solo), except this one never got a release until 1999, when it came out under the La! Neu? umbrella. I never hear anyone talk about it even though it is quite brilliant. By this time, the La-D/Dinger sound was totally digital and drenched in reverb, though the effect here is nothing short of incredible. Not just a really good listen, but also one of Dinger's most bizarre. Here is "Lilienthal"

The entire second half is a re-do of Neondian's "America", which finally delivers on the promise of 75's "After Eight", dropping the synths altogether. Here is the first half of the rawest and hardest rocking track in the KD catalogue.

Has anyone else heard this??

Yep, it is great. I love 'America' in particular.

Yeah...this is great. I gotta acquire it. What'd it come out on, Captain Trips?

Wish Water would re-issue the La! Neu? records, since they've done the Rother/Dusseldorf stuff.

On an unrelated Kraut note, anyone listen to the new Bureau B stuff by Berlin-based Camera?

Rother performed with them at their release show–--sounds like a (barely) updated Neu! That said...I can still dig it. Also cool are their "guerilla" shows, where they set-up in a U-station, street, or event and play till they get shut down.

That it did. I was hoping that there would one day be a La-D boxset similar to the Neu! one, one that included Blue and Neondian. The La! Neu? stuff would be excellent as a download release.

I see this thread title has not held up. But I still love this album, had to write a few things about it here
