the Britney Spears Museum appears to be a widely reported exaggeration. There is in fact a Britney exhibit at the Kentwood Museum of Kentwood, Louisiana but not an independent Britney Spears Museum. The Brit show has been running for 2 years now, but I just spoke to a nice woman at the Kentwood Museum, "Nobody ever told me that it was permanent, but her parents keep donating stuff." They're renovating now to make room for it all.

I'm doing some research on Britney for a project at work. Has anybody ever read anything good and insightful on Brit? here, or otherwise? overseas, even?

There's precious little good writing about Britney about. Most of it gets stuck in the whole virgin/whore thing. Maybe that's cos there's nothing much to say about Britney other than pointing up the virgin/whore thing but there's been volumes written about that dichotomy in pop culture already.

Here's an interesting story about a possible friendship between Britney Spears, the self-proclaimed virgin of the music-business, and Jenna Jameson, the "bad girl" (which says a lot) of the porn-business.
It all began when Jenna Jameson tried to meet Britney Spears when Britney opened her restaurant in New York. She tried to approach her but Britney's "people" became horrified that picturess of the two of them would appear in newspapers so they refused to let Jenna go anywhere near her.
"I'm a really big fan of Britney's," Jameson said, "I tried to talk to her but they put a velvet rope around her table."
A few weeks later it was reported that Jenna showed up backstage after a Britney concert, and I suspect heavily that you have to be invited to get back there.
To make things even more interesting, a friend of Britney Spears has just revealed that Britney loves to watch adult movies, especially lesbian videos. She and her friends rent the videos from Video West, a store near her house. The friend also said that Jenna Jameson is her favorite performer so they often end up renting something with her.
Britney has also recently been to a Vivid Video party in Miami. The connection here is that Jenna Jameson is a contract girl for this perticular adult movie production company.
A friend of Jenna Jameson has commented on Britney and Jenna's relationship: "There's definitely an attraction between them."
Well, this story may be whatever it will, but one thing is for certain. Place Jenna Jameson alone in a room with Britney Spears, and it wouldn't take long for Jenna to try to seduce her. She isn't exactly shy when it comes to seducing women she lusts after.
