Can anyone recommend some good sources for
forthcoming releases?

Great question and I hope other folks have good answers. The ones I check:

Pitchfork, which is sporadically updated but fairly comprehensive for indie whatever; and

Metacritic, which is kinda sparse.

Other than that, you should try individual labels' and publicity firms' web sites.

Ice Magazine generally ain't worth shit for this stuff unless you only need accurate dates for the current month.
