We demand justice: who murdered Chanel? (Matt P), Friday, 28 September 2012 16:06 (thirteen years ago)

I've only heard Slowly SUrely, I think....such a sensual, slinky, gorgeous little number.

Blue Collar Retail Assistant (Dwight Yorke), Friday, 28 September 2012 16:08 (thirteen years ago)

the love i lost is just pure electric energy, one of my favorite songs ever made even better. this is the best music to run to.

We demand justice: who murdered Chanel? (Matt P), Friday, 28 September 2012 16:10 (thirteen years ago)

the quality is so consistently high. they're all functional, they're all gorgeous. how they enter and enhance and re-imagine how these songs work is just.. gah, amazing.

We demand justice: who murdered Chanel? (Matt P), Friday, 28 September 2012 16:21 (thirteen years ago)

i haven't heard 10 or 11. pretty sure i need to hear 'peace pipe'

We demand justice: who murdered Chanel? (Matt P), Friday, 28 September 2012 16:23 (thirteen years ago)

when 'pretty flower' starts and you're cruising along some flat it's like you're flying, that track is flight basically.

We demand justice: who murdered Chanel? (Matt P), Friday, 28 September 2012 16:24 (thirteen years ago)

this is also the first time i've heard loops as these separate building blocks that evoke a world by themselves and when stitched together skillfully can make something new and powerful w/ echoes of what's running through the original.

I guess that's "Party Going On", it's what I voted for at least

groovemaaan, Friday, 28 September 2012 16:52 (thirteen years ago)

Actually If I still djed I would play these. I don't think they have aged much.

JacobSanders, Friday, 28 September 2012 16:53 (thirteen years ago)

yeah they're timeless! i listen to a revenge re-edit now and i'm like.... computer programs, interesting.

'in the basement' (etta james) is nuclear.

Slowly Surely-Never Seen Tree are 1-8 (comped on Uget which came out last year which is what got me into these tbh)

in the basement-mr. bumpman are 9-11.

one month passes...

are these all mono?

Tome Cruise (Matt P), Sunday, 11 November 2012 09:34 (thirteen years ago)

No, they're full of amazing colour! So gutted last week, we'd been been waiting for over 3 months for Theo Parrish to play for his debut in Newcastle, but his flight was delayed by 10 hours due to Sandy so would have arrived just as the club was shutting.

Chewshabadoo, Sunday, 11 November 2012 11:42 (thirteen years ago)

two years pass...

Coming back to these after a year or two and i'm just lost in how brilliant they are.

zionsmommy (mattresslessness), Saturday, 6 June 2015 04:22 (ten years ago)

The Sylvester edit used to seem a little wheezy and long-winded to me but now it strikes me as a masterpiece of tension and release. the way that loop is just on the edge of cresting for so long and the sound of it all is just not something i remember at all about the original, that neverending plushness.

zionsmommy (mattresslessness), Saturday, 6 June 2015 04:30 (ten years ago)

in the basement and sugar hill and funkadelic for me

the late great, Saturday, 6 June 2015 04:33 (ten years ago)

the late great, Saturday, 6 June 2015 04:33 (ten years ago)

sugar hill is smiles for miles

zionsmommy (mattresslessness), Saturday, 6 June 2015 05:06 (ten years ago)
