Friends - the band with the unsearchable name that may already have a thread, and their album, Manifest!

Is there already a thread? Just got turned on to them yesterday. They sound awesome. Have listened to the album three times on Spotify already. I don't know enough about the music of today's hip swinging kids so I don't know what other bands they sound like or what genre this is but it's really good. Info/thoughts/connections?

I just heard them last weekend! Is there a thread? I liked them enough as in they sound like 'my' sort of sound but dunno if the songs themselves have grabbed me yet.

Yeah this and "I'm His Girl" are great. The album was disapointing though.

I like the album. Those two songs are the obvious high points, yeah, but the whole album works really well as something to fill the air while you're not devoting attention to it.

one year passes...

It's a good thing I started a thread about this because I completely forgot this record and the name of the band, everything. Still sounding pretty good, I should look for a physical copy of this.

I mean it kinda sounds like everything sounded at that time, in hindsight, but I think the songwriting is basically solid, doesn't just seem like mush.

I liked "I'm His Girl" but remember the album being mostly boring. The singer Samantha Urbani is dating Dev Hynes and she's been featured on his material (as well as doing "The Way" with her), so if they ever put stuff out again expect it to feature his touches.

I'll concede that halfway through I partly wanted to retract my enthusiasm, it gets a little samey and would probably be better as a ten-song half-hour dealie. "Stay Dreaming" is nice though.

Yeah, that's what happened to me re: this album. I was hyped for it based on the early singles and then...it was just too much of the same thing.
