most quietly mixed vocals

My curiosity has been piqued after listening to Belong's Colorloss Record, which features vocals that are really only perceptible if you turn the volume up really loud & are already familiar with the lyrics to the original songs. What are some other recordings like this, with the vocals mixed so that they barely penetrate the threshold of perception?

Always liked Graham Coxon's vocals when they sounded like they were being recorded from the other end of the room. At work, so I'm not sure about this YouTube version , but:

Similarly, always thought Coffee & TV by Blur was strangely mixed for a hit single. The vocal's almost completely swamped by the production. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I've always wondered why "Love Will Tear Us Apart" does this. It could've been a nice pop song if the vocals were higher in the mix, now it sounds crappy.

But weren't the vocals on "LWTUA" only sort of guide vocals, and they intended to rerecord them when they got back from their American tour? I'm sure I read that somewhere, could be completely wrong.

The Jam's "Trans-Global Express." It sounds like a rough mix that mistakenly made it onto the album.

FWIW Tuomas, plenty of people like Love Will Tear Us Apart just as it is.

Lots of Feelies stuff, especially on The Good Earth.

Of course there is the b-side version of LWTUA which has much less understated vocals...and a better keyboard mix during the bridge.

maybe not as quiet as some on this thread but definitely *very very quiet* especially in the mumbling and fantastic chorus. song is genius any way, as i know we all agree.
