Judy and the Dream of Horses by Belle and Sebastian.

There's a song on the last Woodpigeon album with loads of finger string noise at the start on each chord change and it's so pronounced that it sounds like a sample that is being played deliberately. Slightly annoying.

There is a huge string noise in the middle of "You made me realise", coming out of the "apocalypse" section, it goes back into the intro riff and just before Kevin and Belinda start singing there's this 'scronk' of finger noise.

It's at 2:31 on "You made me realise" and the Woodpigeon song is "Such a lucky girl". God it is so annoying listening to it.

David Garza - Lost and David Garza - Float Away. The string noises on the first annoy. I like them on the second.

I don't know if it's a great song, but I just listened for the first tiem to Instant Mash by Joe Jackson off of Look Sharp! and it has squeaky strings all through it

Sun Kil Moon - Floating. The guitar sound is great and the string noises don't distract. Perhaps they were mic'd separately and faded down a bit. The song alone may not reach greatness. It's certainly great in the context of the album.
