uuuuugh enough with the joy division

I have done bad. I love my pj's. (zachlyon), Thursday, 8 November 2012 04:53 (twelve years ago)

"Love Will Tear Us Apart" is one of the best songs of all-time. still won't get my vote in this poll.

cutting this down to 40 does not make this any easier.

Bee OK, Thursday, 8 November 2012 05:05 (twelve years ago)

of course another impossible year. but ashes to ashes is pretty much a perfect pop song, can't be denied.

but the boo boyz are getting to (Z S), Thursday, 8 November 2012 05:19 (twelve years ago)

abba

balls, Thursday, 8 November 2012 05:37 (twelve years ago)

balls, Thursday, 8 November 2012 05:38 (twelve years ago)

Cambodia is one of my big guitar songs, but Ashes is such a drastically affecting song, hmmmm

Agreeable Goal-reacher (Drugs A. Money), Thursday, 8 November 2012 06:15 (twelve years ago)

Brakes on a plane, brakes on a train
Breaks to make you go insane
Breaks in love, breaks in war
But we got the breaks to get you on the floor
And these are the breaks
Break it up, break it up, break it up!
Break down! Yo!

frogbs, Thursday, 8 November 2012 14:43 (twelve years ago)

The Ace of Spades.

EZ Snappin, Thursday, 8 November 2012 14:44 (twelve years ago)

Impossible to choose!!!!

I did the last Spotify list, who wants to tackle this one?

C-3PO Sharkey (Phil D.), Thursday, 8 November 2012 14:48 (twelve years ago)

nm I did it. No Lennon, Gabriel or AC/DC on Spotify, unfortunately, although I did find a live version of "Biko."

C-3PO Sharkey (Phil D.), Thursday, 8 November 2012 15:12 (twelve years ago)

A lot of good songs here. Voted for "Games Without Frontiers".

EveningStar (Sund4r), Thursday, 8 November 2012 16:09 (twelve years ago)

did anyone else think Kate Bush's part in "Games Without Frontiers" was actually "she's so funky, yeah" ?

frogbs, Thursday, 8 November 2012 16:14 (twelve years ago)

Yeah, the very first time I heard the line.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Thursday, 8 November 2012 16:15 (twelve years ago)

top 40 doesn't really make sense. top 20 or top 50 is a way to go imo

He Stopped Loving Her Today

Born Under Punches
Ashes to Ashes

Master Blaster
When You Were Mine
Atmosphere

g simmel, Thursday, 8 November 2012 17:39 (twelve years ago)

Did what my 10 year old self would have done and voted for Mirror in the Bathroom

Albert Crampus (NickB), Thursday, 8 November 2012 17:44 (twelve years ago)

31 1419 Prince - When You Were Mine

Will probably vote for this, but how in the fuck is there only one track from Dirty Mind on this list?

5-Hour Enmity (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Thursday, 8 November 2012 17:44 (twelve years ago)

Holy crap I missed When You Were Mine. I might vote for that.

EZee4snappin (Drugs A. Money), Thursday, 8 November 2012 19:41 (twelve years ago)

I hope that children will be singing the chorus to "Once in a Lifetime" around campfires, long after the collapse.

in the Land of the Yik Yak (Sanpaku), Thursday, 8 November 2012 20:34 (twelve years ago)

thanks for the Spotify, Phil.

Bee OK, Friday, 9 November 2012 01:59 (twelve years ago)

So many great songs but it has to be Geno.

Kitchen Person, Friday, 9 November 2012 04:14 (twelve years ago)

looking forward to doing one of these polls for a year when shitty fucking joy division doesn't win it

Citizen Ship (some dude), Friday, 9 November 2012 05:06 (twelve years ago)

Was just about to give it to ABBA or Martha & The Muffins but "A Forest" is just too perfect.

LeRooLeRoo, Friday, 9 November 2012 06:05 (twelve years ago)

I love all of these songs, but probably listen to Geno most often these days, so that one...

Darin, Friday, 9 November 2012 06:43 (twelve years ago)

I'm going to either give it to "The Winner Takes It All" or "He Stopped Loving Her Today". Arguably greatest pop ballad of all time vs. arguably greatest country song of all time. Hmmm.

justfanoe (Greg Fanoe), Friday, 9 November 2012 12:11 (twelve years ago)

I'm going to be boring and vote Once In A Lifetime

kornrulez6969, Friday, 9 November 2012 14:46 (twelve years ago)

Bobby Ken Doll (Eric H.), Friday, 9 November 2012 15:34 (twelve years ago)

Echo Beach vs Funkytown vs The Breaks vs about ten other things which I'm not going to look at the list to remind myself of because this is already too difficult

clemenza, Tuesday, 13 November 2012 12:44 (twelve years ago)
