I'm frankly surprised that this series is still going. A powerhouse annual seller in Canada throughout the 90s and early 00s, soundtrack to many a high school party and sports field trip to those of us of a certain generation, I'd've thought downloading would have rendered this irrelevant by now. But this year's edition hit Canadian stores this week, to the delight of every grandparent without a clue as to what to get their teenage grandchildren for Christmas.

Never heard of this series before now. But "Much Dance" is a fantastically ESL title for a compilation.

I should have provided more context. This series is put out by Much Music, Canada's MTV. They also used to do an annual "alt.rock" mix called Big Shiny Tunes but they abandoned that one a few years back.

I've been to Canada, so I figured that part out. Doesn't make the series title any less hilarious.

True. My all time fave compilation title, however, remains Stacked With Hits.

dunno about this shit, but i would like to share the fact that i had my life altered by two older canadian dance comps, club euro vol. 2 and especially dance mix 97, which are pretty boss.

and based on anecdotal evidence i would say that big shiny tunes 2 had a quite hefty effect upon a generation.

9 song overlap with the current Now That's What I Call Music volume, but at least no Owl City on this one.

For the first time ever, ILM has little to no opinion on current pop music.

This thread isn't really about current pop music rather than the format it's being presented
