the three-album run from weather system to armchair apocrypha is amazing but there's a poignance to "i," "lull," and "don't be scared" on weather systems i don't think he's matched since

The Swimming Hour purely out of nostalgia because it evokes a very happy period in my life. Eggs is probably his best album but tracks like 11 11 and Waiting To Talk induce a euphoric/sad feeling in me and Fatal Flower Garden is one of his best songs.

prob either oh the grandeur or swimming hour. no offense but i find him unlistenable on everything after weather systems. i saw the greatest minds of my generation ruined by ani difranco etc

My missus loves The Swimming Hour and it is a profound album for me in the sense that it sparks memories from the period before the bastard MS took it's toll on her.
