can i trust am0n on houston rap legends after his ms cleo work on the ugk record?? esp. when we're talking about 40 mins of straight scarface rapping?
― deej, Monday, 10 December 2007 08:54 (seventeen years ago)
"ms cleo work"? wtf is that supposed to mean
― am0n, Monday, 10 December 2007 15:08 (seventeen years ago)
that you promoted the album via eponymous infomercials before ultimately falling into obscurity and announcing that you are a lesbian obv.

why do you have to trust anyone when you can "preview" new releases your gotdamn self

After speaking to the "psychic" who "commented on his personality and character, but offered little else in the way of a psychic reading", Schwartz ended the call. Later, Schwartz was billed $300 for the call, but sued and ultimately won $200.
― J0rdan S., Monday, 10 December 2007 16:06 (seventeen years ago)
i haven't heard this yet but i could imagine a scarface record getting pretty boring pretty quickly.

u mad
― am0n, Monday, 10 December 2007 18:14 (seventeen years ago)
i ain't mad i just realized all my favorite shit recently like az memphis session, sean p, return of the mac is all old boring dudes! i'll probably like scarface he's an old boring dude too.
i'm can't hang with you youngsters what with your snappin and trappin and supermanning of hoes and we THE BEST and et cetera
― M@tt He1ges0n, Monday, 10 December 2007 18:22 (seventeen years ago)
yeah i'm not real old mannish with my taste in rap but most of my favorite albums this year were by older dudes who've been recording since at least the 90s. i think the reason why i'm most annoyed by people grading American Gangster on a generous curve is because most older rappers still doing it haven't detoriated skills-wise at all like Jay has.
― Alex in Baltimore, Monday, 10 December 2007 18:26 (seventeen years ago)
all time classic post xp
― BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 10 December 2007 18:35 (seventeen years ago)
also made = pretty good!
lol maybe you senior citizens don't have your reading glasses on but before you get your depends bunched up further this isn't even close to being about scarface being boring or washed up, which i never said. just didn't find his new album to be that good, same with ugk. sorry if you think everything they do is automatically classic and beyond reproach. there must be some hiphop grandfather clause i don't know about.
― am0n, Monday, 10 December 2007 19:38 (seventeen years ago)
wow sometimes even am0n gets butthurt just like the rest of us.

scarface still sounds good on made, even if the 'weariness' gets a bit much after a while - enough of the 'im a vet' shtick now. but the beats and hooks arent as good as he is. :(
"my favorite albums this year were by older dudes who've been recording since at least the 90s"
the youngsters arent bringing it like they should, basically.

new album is good though no it has no tracks that kill me as hard as "never" did on the last album, and the hooks really don't do anything for me - I don't know if anybody'd agree with me on this but I don't listen to a Scarface album for pretty sung hooks, for me they just get in the way

https://www.houstonchronicle.com/entertainment/music/article/brad-jordan-scarface-geto-boys-city-council-run-14559523.phpdude lost so much weight!
Jordan’s issues punch list is formidable. He wants to create reentry programs for young adults coming out of prison. He has ideas for activities he’d like to push offering youth alternatives to joining gangs. He wants to promote trade school, and talks about the scholarships available to train as longshoremen, which comes without the burden of student debt. He’d like to know where his neighborhood stands with Hurricane Harvey relief two years after the storm. He’s big on beautification, to the point that he keeps cleaning up real estate lots out of his own pocket.
