the one with the dogs barking backwards and the kids on the swings and the seaside noises.

(srsly, love this album but fucked if I know which song is which).

i think Oh You Chatterbox might be my favourite. Good song titles.

The Be Colony, for all that lovely tape echo and early Floyd-ness.

Too hard; didn't vote.

Seriously still my favorite album from the last several years.

The Queen Is Dad (Old Lunch), Thursday, 3 January 2013 15:22 (twelve years ago)

Voted Be Colony. Just got in from buying Berberian Sound Studio on DVD.

Make My Sleep His Song

"Reception/Group Therapy". Reminds me of one of the snippets that seperate songs on the White Album. "The Be Colony" is my 'song' of choice though.

I may be stating the obvious here but make sure you watch Berberian Sound Studio somewhere with good audio. It'd be a waste otherwise.

Christ I want to see this movie. I have been to two movies in the past 16 months but if this had been around it woulda been 3

is Berberian coming to the US? kind of annoying that you can get the soundtrack in a few days and the movie hasn't come out yet.

a certain torrent tracker may or may not have it btw

A dear friend sent me this, and it was disappointing. He likes more ambient imaginative stuff and I...like hooks and rhythm. I guess I wasn't in the mood for escapism...maybe I'm not being fair.

thanks Chris, I don't do torrents, I will bug my local to screen it though

'The Be Colony' was my first instinct, but really this is more of a great work as a whole.

Aero, you should definitely bug your local cinema, it's really worth it.

Be Colony set to sweep.

I love this album but I really don't want to think about splitting it into separate tracks.

three years pass...

This is one of maybe, I dunno, ten? fewer? albums that I listen to front-to-back semi-regularly. It sounds like a band showed up to the studio one morning to discover that the snippets they'd recorded had been assembled into an album by ghosts overnight.

truly one of the best of the last ten years
