its a cover of 'Holiday' - it doesnt actually sample it...in fact it actually samples 'Music Sounds Better With You'....either way, destroy it at all costs!

oh my god its got to be dj sven and mc 'miker' g: holiday rap, from 86!!! this is the worst song ever!
" we're going to paris and new york city ,and we dig a little bit of s & m"....

ambrose (ambrose), Monday, 30 September 2002 20:14 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, but I was following on from the logic that it was played with las ketchup you see.

I like madhouse.

talk about double standards...but i love the DJ Sven track...

blueski, Monday, 30 September 2002 20:33 (twenty-three years ago)

nono... it's not madhouse, and it's not a rap song...

it samples 'holiday' HEAVILY and turns it into a cheesy modjo style disco house track.

madonna did a live performance of holiday using 'music sounds better with you' as the backing track, maybe this fits in somehow?

is madhouse devoted to covering madonna songs only?

Oh god, you are NOT referring to that lame-oh Dutch song? Two guys *rapping* over Holiday in a Vanilla Ice stylee?? Comes from the same country (Netherlands) as Madhouse BTW.

We're gonna ring-a-rang-a-dong for a hol-lee-day!

Right up there with Stutter Rap round my way...

It doesn't sample that either. It's a legalized version of the Madonna vs Stardust bootleg (which is great, by the way), where the Madonna vocals are sung by that annoying girl, and the "Music Sounds Better With You" loop is also emulated. Just like Madhouse "Like A Prayer" was a legalized version of the Madonna vs Black Legend bootleg.

Siegbran (eofor), Tuesday, 1 October 2002 08:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ah yes, i meant to say it SOUNDS like 'Music Sounds Better Than You' - but then so did that last Kylie track...man, 4 years later and people are still ripping off that Chaka Khan loop of old

Madhouse should be shot, and i mean that

blueski, Tuesday, 1 October 2002 10:35 (twenty-three years ago)

But the URGENT AND KEY question here is: who the hell was Rangadong?

"We gonna ring Rangadong for a holiday"? Couldn't they afford KLM then or something?

i mean seriously! the guitar part is a wholesale rip.

five years pass...

Wow! I had no clue there was a legit pop version of the great Stardust vs. Madonna bootleg. Pretty tepid. But it made me drag out the original (!) which is classic nerve-wracked house. It sounds like most holidays - loaded with so many activities that you're exhausted at the end. And then you need another holiday.
