Apparently this song is on some mixtape EP supposedly available on iTunes, but apparently not in the States. Anyway, love this track and this is the first time I've been excited by him in, oh, 6 years?

BIG DIRTY STINKING BASS has been in my head constantly since I heard this for the first time. This actually sounds convincing in being fun, unlike every other single since "Bonkers."

it's nice that people seem to like this, wouldnt have expected so

despite some choice bits of inimitable dizzee skoolboy charm ("i'm a fiend for a big stinking bassline / when i hear one i have a great time") this doesnt really flip my wig as a single but it does make me quite hopeful as part of a raving fun album along the same lines as the excellent tongue n cheek

incidentally i may as well now reveal that i actually first heard 'i luv u' around spring 2002 played once and once only on allen's radio show on glr (b2b with ms dynamite 'ramp' - mindblowing!), and it took me 6 months to ever find it again. still have no idea how he got hold of it so early but i'd guessed it's something to do with (dizzee's eminence greez) cage laying down some industry feelers idk

he sounds old, the music sounds old... just old, you can't even really imagine what you'd want to hear from him any more

extent of tinie tempah's scene-stealing on his one guest spot ('spend some money', also featuring scrufizzy birdcalls) lays it starkly bare

Everything I've heard suggests that he went full-on sellout only for the pop world to rotate underneath him as he was doing it and leave him chasing last year's money.
