Of these, I've seen Cracker (RFK Stadium 1994) and Spin Doctors (Merriweather Post 1993, but only because the Screaming Trees were opening).

I saw Live open for someone in '92, and during a between-songs lull I yelled "YOU SUCK!" Ed K looked very hurt.

I saw Cracker in '92 as well, and still might whenever Camper van Beethoven is opening.

I was pretty appalled recently to discover that I know basically all the words to several Live songs. Still.

I still keep reading this thread title as Mark McGuire and friends. About the only way you'd get me on a cruise was if it was full of Ashra Temple worship from dawn to dusk.

Heh - I was at both of those shows too! The Screaming Trees/Spin Doctors one also had Soul Asylum on the bill!

Come to think of it, I also saw Screaming Trees at the 9:30 club in 1992. And, I think, the Spin Doctors at University of Maryland in 1993. I mean, I had seen a few Fugazi shows by then - but I was still like "The Doctors are at Ritchie Coliseum, and I happen to have a pocket full of kryptonite. Let's do this thing." So weird.

anyone game to go there? i think i should. i would bring a book about death and grief and hopefully that experience would help me get to term with the loss of those few years in my life when i was in musical depression.

The opinions in their alt-rock cover stories and album reviews have often clashed, but never as frequently as 98-2001. I'm pretty positive Charles Aaron didn't like "Fly" or "Semi-Charmed Life" and gave curt reviews to Our Lady Peace and Marcy Playground calling them "Fourth Eye Blind" and "Matchbox 21" or something to that extent.
