O'Floyd rules! (Drugs A. Money), Friday, 25 January 2013 07:55 (twelve years ago)

anyways, I am voting for E Wiz

O'Floyd rules! (Drugs A. Money), Friday, 25 January 2013 07:56 (twelve years ago)

I really have no idea what will win this.

pfunkboy (Algerian Goalkeeper), Friday, 25 January 2013 07:59 (twelve years ago)

They all hold up extremely well but so do a lot of the albums they beat

pfunkboy (Algerian Goalkeeper), Friday, 25 January 2013 08:02 (twelve years ago)

Electric Wizard with Torche a solid but distant second.

Loud guitars shit all over "Bette Davis Eyes" (NYCNative), Friday, 25 January 2013 08:14 (twelve years ago)

Hammers, E Wiz, Torche, Converge, Sunn

EZ Snappin, Friday, 25 January 2013 14:44 (twelve years ago)

torche > converge > sunn > e wiz > hammers

Monoliths and Dimensions. Easily.

Frederik B, Friday, 25 January 2013 14:53 (twelve years ago)

do we need to sumon imago to defend sunn 0))) or do i need to do it?
M&D is still awesome and I think their best album. Witchcult Today is better than Black Masses I think from nu- wizard. But really i love all of these albums yet bizarrely none of them were my #1 pick that year.

pfunkboy (Algerian Goalkeeper), Friday, 25 January 2013 18:01 (twelve years ago)

I'm with you on Witchcult. I think it's turned into my fav E Wiz, but the margin is tiny with Come My Fanatics and Dopethrone right there on it's heels.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 25 January 2013 18:03 (twelve years ago)

yes thats why i said nu-wiz. I think most of us have to make the difference.

pfunkboy (Algerian Goalkeeper), Friday, 25 January 2013 18:10 (twelve years ago)

Hammers, Wizard, and Converge: albums are all albums I didn't like much by groups I really like. M&D for me.

beard papa, Saturday, 26 January 2013 06:49 (twelve years ago)

Sunn 0))) for me. I do listen to a lot more drone than metal in general though...

Oblique Strategies, Saturday, 26 January 2013 07:09 (twelve years ago)

beard papa who did you used to post as?

pfunkboy (Algerian Goalkeeper), Tuesday, 29 January 2013 13:39 (twelve years ago)

the Torche album is bad, but those other albums are fantastic. strangely tempted to vote for Converge, but it may not be the best.

charlie h, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 13:40 (twelve years ago)

the torche album is great!

pfunkboy (Algerian Goalkeeper), Tuesday, 29 January 2013 13:43 (twelve years ago)

always sounded very alternative rock to me, which wouldn't be such a bad thing i suppose if i wasn't expecting it to be a bit more original. i persisted with it for a while too -- never came round.

charlie h, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 14:04 (twelve years ago)

anyway, ended up jumping in and casting an impulsive vote for Converge. i honestly believe it's their best since Jane Doe and i love all the releases through and through.

charlie h, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 15:19 (twelve years ago)

Sunn O))) > Electric Wizard > Converge > Torche > Hammers

But that makes me sound like I'm down on that Hammers of Misfortune album more than I am, I actually love all of these.

HAPPY BDAY TOOTS (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Tuesday, 29 January 2013 18:11 (twelve years ago)

I love E wiz but somehow they've just never topped Dopethrone for me. Voted Sunn O))) even though yeah yeah it's not proper metal, but in its way it's the most true metal record in decades

dog latin, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 18:20 (twelve years ago)

jon's ranking seems about right

Simon H., Tuesday, 29 January 2013 18:21 (twelve years ago)

Xpost It makes me think of Transylvania more than Transylvanian Hunger. Attila never sounded so convincing.

dog latin, Tuesday, 29 January 2013 18:22 (twelve years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Wednesday, 6 February 2013 00:01 (twelve years ago)

It is a rare event where I vote for the winner in anything.

Loud guitars shit all over "Bette Davis Eyes" (NYCNative), Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:06 (twelve years ago)

Surprised Sunn 0))) didn't win

pfunkboy (Algerian Goalkeeper), Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:09 (twelve years ago)

reverse Torche and Hammers of Misfortune and i'd be happy with that (even though Converge are one of my very favourite bands)

charlie h, Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:23 (twelve years ago)

As I sorta liked Dopethrone as well as seeing Electric Wizard live (it was 12 in the afternoon, but I was still drunk, and then high. Good times) I should probably check Black Masses out, then. Didn't think people rated it that highly.

Frederik B, Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:53 (twelve years ago)

Witchcult Today is even better than Black Masses

pfunkboy (Algerian Goalkeeper), Thursday, 7 February 2013 00:58 (twelve years ago)
