Old news in Australia! I had to unsubscribe from his youtube channel, the endless videos were boring and slightly disturbing

badg, Wednesday, 30 January 2013 16:57 (twelve years ago)

Still his best.

"tell me what you wanna drink 'cause you know, the next one's on me, girl
drink it up, have another sip,
and let me know what you want for your next drink, girl
take your time, we got all night
there's really no need for you to rush things"

Bel-Air the Fresh Prince, sitting in a chair (DJP), Wednesday, 30 January 2013 17:08 (twelve years ago)

The part where he tells me he's fucking with my head and I know I know something's going on...but I'm not really sure. I get him. He's doing something.

What do you think all the people in the "You Gotta Love This City, Baby" are thinking while RAED babbles on and on about erection time?

so glad there's a thread; I've brought him up before to silence. I love this guy unreservedly; it's not just a gimmick, he's really genuinely mad.

the album is the clincher -- every track has varied, and really strange production & loops, and each song ups the ante on his lyrics. and it's also genuinely danceable -- I have put this on and parties where people were not dancing, and they started dancing. this & the perfume record were pretty much my two favorite pop albums that came out in 2011 -- http://www.amazon.com/Straight-Through-r-d/dp/B003S3SJW2

if you think you want it, you definitely have to have it, and in general if you like CDs that stop all room conversation dead within 60 seconds of you putting them on... well, yeah

they want the freak back in the club
bring the freak back in the club
I know you you want to see my face my face back in the club
and I know you missing me back in the club
somebody get that freak back in the club

great song about getting kicked out a club!

this one is old, but it would usually be the first one I'd play, just to warm people up for "You Gotta Love This City"

I had forgotten about r.a.e.d.

the introduction of the kick drum in i no she wants me back is really special

ogmor, Sunday, 3 February 2013 23:37 (twelve years ago)

this guy rules

p sure he made an appearance on LOLz thread or KKK a year or three back

❏❐❑❒ (gr8080), Sunday, 3 February 2013 23:54 (twelve years ago)

I don't think he's mad. I just think he bears the same relation to rap as some group like No Neck Blues Band or Jackie O'Motherfucker bear to free jazz. The tropes have been absorbed and are out there in spades, but anyone listening who has experience of that area of music at its best is on the floor laughing.

Or crying, of course.

I think a lot of ppl laughing/crying at r.a.e.d. are not rap connoisseurs
