I Love Frisk Frugt A.K.A. Anders Lauge Meldgaard Danish Musicologist Who Makes Plants Sing

While I'm mistakenly having an afternoon ignoring my self-imposed rule of never posting my own stuff on here, I wanted to ask, has anyone else heard of Anders Lauge Meldgaard? And more to the point, does anyone else like him? His album as Fresh Frugt called Dansktoppen Møder Burkina Faso I Det Himmelblå Rum Hvor Solen Bor, Suite is my most played of the year so far (it came out in Denmark on Yoyooyoy two years ago and was licensed for the UK by Exotic Pylon last year). It was written after a six week trip to Burkina Faso to play with street bands and Mali to learn kora techniques with Toumani Diabate. It's such a crazy record, completely revels in how inauthentic it is but is brilliant with a mix of Congotronics, Harry Partch, Diabate, Danish folk, high life, Eno, Hassel, free jazz and Penguin Cafe Orchestra among other things.

Anyway please sorry for indulging myself but I really want to spread the word. One for Curmudgeon and Mordy maybe?

Yup. He is definitely one of the best unknown Danish artists right know. A lot of the yoyooyoy stuff is really interesting.
