List of overrated bands

1 The Rolling Stones. To me they are no more than just overrated jerks who write melodically dead emotionally dry music. The most overrated band I know of, actually. The Rolling Stones receive way too much praise and credit for everything from influence to the quality of their hooks. I'd give them a one at best. That said, there are a bunch of Stones songs that I do like (even a couple that I love) and I can easily say Beggar's Banquet is a really good album, but for the most part they really leave me cold. Sorry, this is just how I feel.

1st lp was ok though wasn't it? Before tehy got success and got really commercial.
NOt heard it in a long time but I think it was more Roots orientated than tehy became. The band name is a reference to them starting while on the dole isn't it so maybe why they sold out so massively . NOt sure about veracity of roots though since Ali Campbell teh white singer was apparently the son of the folk singer Ian campbell though that might just mean he was not from money anyway.
Ah well there are much better Roots Reggae records than taht first one by them anyway.
Simply Red at least begat a couploe of decent record labels from what I can remember, I can't remember the same being true of UB40. Did tehy at least inject money into the Brum music scene?

Funny if a load of people's association of the name is now to piss weak pop reggae instead of a dread form that one had to go through to get a dole claim. Does it take away the dread.
